| WOLF MEDIA NEWS 4/13/2010 Heart of the Wolf Organization Media News 4/13/2010 1) A wolf Kids book by a contact of the Cat was discovered. It's called: Wild, Wild Wolves. Recommended for 1st through 3rd graders, it is an excellent source of information on wolves. It has a neat story that goes through their history to the present. The book also shows the facts, rather than subscribing to the myths about them. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Wild-Wild-Wolves/Joyce-Milton/ e/9780679810520/?itm=1&USRI=wild%2c+wild+wolves 2) Life: HUNTERS AND HUNTED had a clip of Ethiopian Wolves hunting rats in Africa. Only 500 on avg as the clip claims are left. Sadly the film is inaccurate a little on the pack structure. The female solely doesn't run the pack as any wolf pack has an Alpha female and male running operations. If the female is staying home to nurse her pups, which one is going to supervise the hunt? Also the film didn't exactly EXPLAIN why their population is down to 500. It's because of rabies from dogs and human interference. It would have been helpful if the website bio mentioned this. http://animal.discovery.com/animals/life/ethiopian-wolf.html But it doesn't. Maybe next time. 3) Dorothy Hearst's Promise of the Wolves is out in paperback. http://www.amazon.com/Promise-Wolves-Dorothy-Hearst/dp/1847 394477/ref=sr_1_1?ie= UTF8&s=books&qid=1271215165&sr=1-1 Pick it up, it's an interesting tale of a wolf before the rise of homo sapien. The book is around 14,400 years ago. And it's about a wolf who becomes a deviant everywhere she goes. It's part of a trilogy. Hopefully the next one comes out soon.
