HEART OF THE WOLF ORGANIZATION NEWS 1/
17/2010

Here are the latest updates folks.

HEART OF THE WOLF ORGANIZATION NEWS 1/16/2010

1) Wolves have been murdered by non-government
officials in Wisconsin and Michigan and Minnesota.

Please help if you know any information on bringing
the murderers to justice.

2) The story of the continued saga of Romeo, the
lone wolf, can be found here:

3) The Forest Service ignored an EIS which shows
how a logging operation would threaten natural species.
This includes wolves, in the Tongass Rainforest in
Alaska.

illegal project.

4) Montana FWP wants wolves to be slaughtered more
than ever. They announced recently through an attorney that if wolves aren't
relisted, that wolves will be hunted more in numbers
as opposed to last year. Elaine Allestad, who chairs Montana's
Livestock Loss Reduction and Mitigation board already
thinks there are going to be more livestock issues than
ever before.

Maybe instead of paying a huge focus on compensation, after
slaughter of the wolves, try using non-lethal methods to
prevent these issues from happening. Bloodshed doesn't bring
harmony.

Especially a smear campaign against non-lethal methods has been
initiated. Like in the case of the Fishtrap Pack, who may be gunned
down by the Montana FWP.

Here is the hideous reports that the Montana FWP published as
of late. Please take action here:

5) MI DNR's Wildlife Division Chief Russ Mason thinks wolves
of course, should be delisted, and that their plan of mgmt
is great. Wolves shouldn't be managed. We need to live with them
rather than against them, which is what management is. A
system of control. Mason says the reason why they aren't delisted
is a matter of money.

Here is what Mason said in an article:

'According to Mason, the wolf’s status in the Great Lakes Region is
purely a political one and has nothing to do with the recovery effort.
Anti-hunting and trapping factions are well-funded and able to generate
money for their cause by essentially using the wolf as a poster child.'

That's funny because the hunting industry is well funded. It's why
the wolves are being slaughtered in Alaska, and the Northern Rockies.
And it isn't just hunting interests that have interfered with wolf protection.

Politics of the wolf are a part of it, but so is funding. Mason's
intent is clear. And it definitely shows that he too like many agencies
and government officials, and the real powers of the world, have no care
for the wolf.

Luckily for now wolves in Michigan are safe, but this may not last. Be
on the lookout folks.

Especially since he wants people to contact the Senators Congressman Bart
Stupak, and
Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Sen. Carl Levin in order to delist the wolf.

This is because Mason wants all species micromanaged and controlled and
any real protection stamped out. He fears predator species and wants them
dominated.

He must be stopped.

Sen. Carl Levin

6) Bays Mountain Park had 6 wolves escape in Tennessee not too long
ago. Luckily 4 returned, 1 is still out there. Another is feared
dead. We hope the last wolf, Kawoni will be found alive or returns on her
own.

7) Sweden is currently becoming a nightmare for wolves.
Something that is becoming all to clear.

A) Sweden’s environment minister Andreas Carlgren defended the hunt
and thought it was the best thing for the pack and the whole
thing is a 'misunderstanding'. Not if you choose to believe in
moral choices and responsibilities minister. Would you execute
a whole bunch of humans minister, or pull culls like this? No.
But since it's animals, it's ok, in your twisted mind.

B) Wolves' testicles were cut off by hunters after being slain.
Sexual mutilation. How sick can Sweden's government get by endorsing
this? And this serves as a model for even the U.S. and other places.
We cannot be doing this to animals of nature.

C) This horrible slaughter has brought much debate. It will now be
a Parliament debate.

D) Lastly, a man not unlike David Mech has appeared in Sweden.
Olof Liberg, research manager at Grimsö Wildlife Research Station
supports the destruction of more wolves. And yet, he too works
at a wildlife station. Liberg supports population caps, and resorts
to mass annihilation of animals at a zoo.

Sadly a man who claims to be a part of nature, studying it, and protecting
it, endorses the destruction of it. Science truly needs ethics, I once heard,
and it needs it now.

And the Swedish Government has to be held
accountable for their slaughter of wolves in hunts.

Here is how you can do that:
