Their possible location is near a ranch that is 200 miles outside of Denver. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_14359285?source=rss Last time a wolf came into the state was last year, and the Colorado Division of Wildlife failed to restart a wolf population since a wolf was also in Rocky Mountain National Park. If there is absolute proof, which we think there is, that there are wolves in Colorado, then the CDW needs to protect them and get a population going. Contact the CDW in support of wolves in addition to Colorado politicians. http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/congress/?district=02&lvl=C&a zip=80027&state=CO http://www.house.gov/formdegette/dcs_zip_auth_v2.shtml Colorado Residents really need to take action on this as well! Use the media to voice your views and this issue. http://www.heartofthewolf.org/MediaGovernmentContacts.htm Support the wolf in the mission to return it to it's homeland of Colorado! Especially since the landowners where they are very well at are supported by that landowner. http://www.newwest.net/city/article/colorado_rancher_says_wolves_may_hav e_arrived_welcomes_their_return/C8/L8/ 2) You know the clause of most regulations that most environmental groups support where wolves should only be killed if it is a last resort to control their numbers of population? Well in British Columbia, it has now bitten them in the behind big time. And the wolves are going to be the victims. In British Columbia their government is mulling the ides of using the idea of promoting the idea of using murder to 'control' the wolf population. http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/mulls+plan+save+caribou+killing+wolves/ 2530897/story.html This is a disaster 'cause in Canada, there are other places where wolves are declining. http://www.lotwenterprise.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2437160 Populations fluxuate, and it doesn't help when the wolf's environment is being destroyed by the overpopulation of people in BC is about 4,419,974 right now. Which is the problem? Contact the British Columbia government, and the Ministry of the Environment in opposition against this.. http://www.gov.bc.ca/env/minister.html http://www.gov.bc.ca/env/contacts.html http://bcwildfire.ca/ContactUs/ I would suppose this would be another reason to not watch the Olympics. 3) The Mexican Gray Wolf program has been going through tough times. An investigation is going on with the shooting deaths of two wolves last year in New Mexico. http://www.azstarnet.com/news/local/article_30baeacc-1288-11df-8534-001cc 4c002e0.html Populations are dipping as well in the program in NM and AZ. http://www.kgun9.com/Global/story.asp?S=11941333 http://www.azstarnet.com/news/science/environment/article_1d9a72c2-9f55-5 730-b948-b57533cd1620.html 4) However in the Mexico Wolf program, they have a possible chance as 5 wolves will be released in a spot near Arizona. And they won't be assassinated in livestock issues. So there is a chance. But non-lethal methods need to be used so incidents won't happen. http://www.azstarnet.com/news/science/environment/article_1e747ca2-ba88-5 476-8991-be4783761f09.html http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html Mike Wagner Founder and Executive Director of Heart of the Wolf Organization http://www.heartofthewolf.org --------------- Mike Wagner Founder and Director of Heart of the Wolf Organization http://www.heartofthewolf.org Copyright 2010 Heart of the Wolf Organization |
