Everyone has seen us post asking for donations to help the Colorado
wolfdogs be saved and get to their new homes.
Maybe the newsletter below will help you understand how far we
have come and how far we have to go:
Timber's Pack Rescue
For a number of years a woman in Colorado has been quietly rescuing
wolfdogs that many felt were not adoptable due to poor socialization
and shyness. Each animal that came to Timber's Pack was provided with a loving home.
Just days prior to Christmas, Indigo Mountain received an urgent email
asking for help. The wolfdogs owner was in a dire situation. She said
she had reached the most dreadful point in her life. Her husband had
left her with a young baby, she had no money, and was on the verge of
loosing everything. We were given a deadline of December 28th to find
homes for 10 wolfdogs and one Newfoundland.
Throughout 2008 we have seen an increase in surrenders of all sorts of
animals. As people have to choose what bills they can pay many animals
are being abandoned or surrendered to shelters and sanctuaries.
Some simply cannot afford food for their animals. Some are loosing their
homes or downsizing from the rural home to an apartment in the city.
Breeders are unloading their surplus, and in many cases shutting down the kennels.
At the same time rescuers are having more difficulties finding responsible,
qualified homes and donations are way down.
So when we received the email we weren't sure what we could do.
December in Colorado means harsh weather, frozen ground and great difficulty
constructing new habitats. We are far from immune to the slumping economy and
have had to turn away a number of animals until we see a rebound in donations
to help pay for food, construction and medical expenses.
We began working with rescuers and sanctuaries across the country and by the
deadline we were successful in finding approved homes for everyone.
We just had to figure out how to get them to their new homes.
Six of them have found refuge in TN and NC, while the others are
being placed in CO and NM. The logistics of transporting 6 large,
skittish wolfdogs halfway across the country in such a short time
gave us all gray hair, but everything fell into place just before the New Year.
But we need your help to pull off this rescue.
A transporter has generously offered his services to transport
6 from CO to TN for a greatly reduced rate,
but we are a long way from his fee. We must also cover the costs to
get some of them from TN on to NC. Two animals must be
transported to NM once their new home is ready.
All totalled our budget for this rescue is just under $4,000
including the transportation costs, crates, veterinary services,
health certificates, drugs, vaccine charges and food while in
foster care. We have received a number of cash donations and
in-kind donations that have brought us close to the total budget.
We are now just $1,000 short of the total budget.

SHEBA IS YOUNG, SHY, SWEET & BEAUTIFUL (not quite grown) female near Okl/Texas border and is in need of a home to call her own. The original owner, a young girl, moved away from home (a horse ranch) and left Sheba . The parents did not want her and intended to SHOOT HER.** This poor girl was barely saved in time!!** But Sheba has no one to LOVE HER and give her the 'furever' home she needs.
Another lady, visiting them took her but did not have any facilities to keep her. SWEET SHEBA needs a home ASAP. Sheba has all vaccinations and be altered prior to placement. *Adoption application, reference and vet checks along with homecheck is required*, this is for the safety of Sheba who has been through so much…Gentle Sheba needs understanding a reassurance that she is loved & in her 'forever home'!.

Ross County Humane says they have a wolf dog. Looking at his one
leg on the right hand picture, looks very tall, difficult to determine
from these and time is short there.

Ross County Humane Society, Ohio has a Wolf Hybrid – brought in as a stray.
This dog is older, not sure the age. He is scheduled to be euthanized
Tuesday Dec 9th unless a rescue can be found. He will let you pet him,
but that is as far as I went. He does have an eye infection, right side.

Ceasar is a beautiful boy with golden eyes who is more of a one person
dog...he is timid and shy around strangers
but is totally non-aggressive. He takes treats nicely, gives Eskimo
kisses and is a very good natured boy.
He will also lay down on command. Ceasar is a digger and likes to run
so will need secure escape proof
containment. He has a mated companion with whom he is very bonded and
they need to be placed together.
His female companion's name is Jada Kiss. She is 5 yrs old, loves
belly rubs, takes treats nicely,
sits, is leash trained and is a very gentle girl who is good with
children.
Jada Kiss and Ceasar are both lethal with cats and Jada is also a
digger/escape artist who
is very hard to catch if she gets away. Jada is gray and black in
color with orange eye coloration.
We do not have a good picture of her at this time but will send to
anyone interested in this pair.
Ceasar and Jada Kiss are the parents of Daisy, Minnie and Baby and will
also be leaving WI to go to
their foster home in NE WA.

This guy took her because she was in dire need due to a divorce.
Now he has been cited by the city due to howling. He also is a truck
driver gone 5 days a week. His father cannot take care of her any longer.

about 3 months old, with unusual markings. She has greenish-brown eyes - one eye has some blue.
Sabrina needs her forever home with a fenced yard and another dog for company would be wonderful.

SWEET, BEAUTIFUL, WOLFDOG GIRL *SAHIRA* is such a cuddlebug!
We took her to the vet today for a checkup and boosters.
She has put on the weight she lost while in the shelter and
is now up to 51 lbs! Saphira quickly warms up with TLC, and
seems to trust women faster than men, but she does not seem
to be afraid of anything in particular...she just needs some
REASSURANCE AND LOVE, she needs someone to protect her and to care!
She is a bit skittish which is normal considering all she has
been through…. with a loving owner she will be blossom!

Saphira needs to be moved soon , and she so much needs a home with a yard
(very secure as she can squeeze through the most impossible small gaps, and jump a
4' fence easily). And she needs alot of attention and TLC...*ALL
SAPHIRA NEEDS IS LOVE AND SOMEONE TO CARE ABOUT HER!*
We visit Saphira weekly and take her out on a leash for walks and attention.
She is so happy to see us and enjoys her one-on-one time. Her coat is changing colors -
she's gone from a silvery gray and white to a beautiful sable and white.
She is so ready for a yard with a high fence so she can run and play off leash.
I wish our two would accept her...we would bring her home…she is so special
and just needs her chance to be a loving family member!!

2) Very Sweet, *WOLFDOG* Pup/Girl in NM neds home/Pls repost
This precious baby needs a home…she was surrendered by a homeless person who
could no long take care of her…and has spent all of her young life on the
end of a rope with minimal food until coming to our home, as we are fostering her.
She may have been underfed buy her previous owner, but she was loved,
as she is a very social, & happy girl.

Whoever had her was kind to her as she has no emotional issues I have noticed…I housebroke her
in 2 days so she learns quickly but I have not had a lot of time to train her.
But she is loving and smart. She is not afraid of men so a male or female owner would be fine.
Naaelisha is very beautiful and her fur is gorgeous now, as we have been
feeding her well for a couple of months…she is gorgeous.
She needs a male wuffer companion who will be tolerant of her
constantly trying to play…and she likes to roughhouse.
I have seen ‘no indication’ of jumping or digging or trying to get out,
but she is only 8 months old…that might change, but she needs a playmate to keep her occupied .

Naaelisha gets along well with all our other dogs except she plays too rough for my
little blind dog…she is ‘totally’ housebroke and happy chewing on a large rawhide
inside all day long and will lay nicely as long as she has a big rawhide or knucklebone
to chew on but she needs a yard to run and a ‘larger dog’ friend… and does well with our
pit bull, they chase each other around.
I have another young female wolf dog who Naaelisha annoyed & they dont get along...
so I need to find her a home quickly before it gets cold here. I do not want to put
the 2 young females in the house together for the winter.
She sleeps inside on the bed very well, lying quietly next to you all through the night,
and will kiss you good morning and brighten your day~! She holds her
potty until you let her out in the morning with no problems.
She is spayed, healthy, bright and beautiful, and about 8 months old.
Although she has no emotional damage and likes men as well as women….
She has wolfy behavior, so whoever adopts her need to expect that.
She Will grab meat off the table etc., but in all fairness I have
had no time to thoroughly train her. She walks nicely on a harness…
but pulls too much on a collar walk, yet I have only had time
to walk her a couple times…but we have an acre fenced for her to play in so she gets a lot of exercise.
OH!!! She is a good ‘alert dog’ and will make a real ruckus if a stranger appears, she will
let you know a stranger is approaching!
She needs love, direction and a permanent home with a wuffer friend.
She gets along well with my older female wolf, and my 2 older male wolfdogs…
I would not recommend putting her with another young female wolfdog.
She is a beauty and a treasure…just a fun little girl.

Wolfie is housetrained, not destructive, walks gently on leash, decent
recall off leash; and is people and children friendly…

As with all rescues, an adjustment period is needed as he is very sensitive to change.
He and his mate were dropped to a shelter and were going to be euthanized on July 4.
His mate has been adopted, but Wolfie needs a home desperately. He was in a shelter for 4 months,
then fosters since July! This boy needs his forever home!

Beautiful 3 1/2 year old Kito *(Illinois)* has been given up by his owner and needs his forever home.
This gorgeous fellow will need a home with someone who has experience with more dominate breeds,
although he settled into his foster home beautifully!
He is HOUSETRAINED, but still needs vetting. We make no claims as to his origins,
Critter Camp believes him to be a Native American Indian Dog, and he will be adopted
