1) In Sweden there are two news items.
A Wolf is being hunted by the
Natural Resources Office.

decided last Friday. This is the same office
that decided to have a Wolf hunt.

The Wolf apparently damaged but
didn't kill several sheep.
and they 'claim' that it has been
five to ten meters from people and
followed Horseback riders. And
if it did break through anti-predator
fencing, the fencing wasn't good
enough. Neither is education on
how to live with or near predators.

The hunt will be from last Friday
to the 1st of November.

Luckily they don't know where the
Wolf is from and it may be a Lone
Wolf or a young Wolf.

Murder isn't the answer here.

2) Pair of Wolf pups in Sweden in the lands
of Uttersberg had pups. This is through
two Wolves being tracked through GPS
radio at the Grismo Research Station
outside of Skinnskatteberg.

The two Wolves being tracked have
been injured and have been having trouble moving
around.

3) Recently the Montana FWP and Wildlife
Services gave a murder permit to a rancher
in Reed Point.

They will murder one Wolf and collar
another one to find out where they ('biologists')
are going, where they came from and if
they are a part of a bigger pack.

They 'claim' that herders and guard dogs
haven't prevented the depredations.
Naturally we have evidence that points
to many techniques in combination with these
that shows success.

Wildlife Services claimed back in September
that a Wolf hybrid may have been involved in 8
Sheep kills on the ranch. Trapping the Wolves
was unsuccessful for them...

Bill Maher's show Real-Time with Bill Maher
supported Wolves once again, last Friday. In his
end segment of the show 'New Rules' he
talks about how Palin is a threat to this
country for the lack of separation of state.
And parts of the Bible, but he mentions he
ironically, she forgets important parts
of what Jesus stood for. Such as tolerance
and love and how that isn't shooting
Wolves from airplanes. Which is true,
love and tolerance isn't just for people,
it's for everyone and everything and
murder is wrong.

1) Franz Camenzind (franz@jhalliance.org), (executive
director of the Jackson Hole
Conservation Alliance), who
was involved in a lawsuit
to put Wolves back on
the endangered status in the
Northern Rockies (which
ended the lives of 106 Wolves
in a 'test' to prove that Wolves
would be threatened by violence
in order to be delisted), supports
the idea of Rep. Keith Gingery.
Ginger is R-Teton/Fremont, who drafted a
Wyoming wolf bill after Molloy’s
temporary injunction in July, which
would manage Wolves as trophy game across
the state of Wyoming.

2) Catron County got it's way partially
in court recently.

U.S. District Judge Martha Vazquez made a ruling
Tuesday that WildEarth Guardians had no
grounds for a suit in regards to an
ordinance that Catron County passed
last year. It violated the Endangered Species Act.

They have been on the attack against
Wolves for along time now. Due to their
lack of animal husbandry practices
and being responsible for two Wolves...

Vazquez didn't rule yet on the claim that
the county commission violated federal
law when a pair of Wolves were trapped
last year. Catron made an ordinance in
April of last year that made it demand
that the USFWS remove a Wolf that is a threat
to them, or authorize a county officer
to remove [murder] the Wolf.

County Manager Bill Aymar ACTUALLY believes
that Wolves are Human children eaters.
He conveniently ignores the fact that Wolves
haven't killed anyone for more than 100 years
in North America...

A permanent injunction has been asked
to stop trapping in Catron County.
Catron county needs to be using
Animal Husbandry Practices and Non-Lethal
Methods to prevent livestock issues.

1) More Wolves have been
slaughtered by the Montana
FWP despite protests after
the first two murders of
Wolves from the Hog Heaven
Pack (what a terrible name
for a pack first of all..).

to murder another one.

It's terrible because the
Montana FWP's Kent Laudon,
regional wolf management specialist with
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks,
won't even take responsibility
for it.

Using euphemisms like 'aggressive
action', and "The old Hog Heaven
Pack didn't seem to get into trouble,"
they justify this.

Their hideous plan is to
reduce the pack's presence
and nutritional needs
by culling the pack and he
uses euphemisms to do it.

He actually said, 'So
the goal is to reduce the
pack's lethal power as
well as its nutritional
needs, he said.

2) A Swedish Wolf Hunt has been called
in the Hasselfors area between Degerfors and Laxå.

This is what the Natural Resources Department decided yesterday.

This is most likely in connection with two incidents
that could have been prevented with animal husbandry
practices and PF Ranching.

Thus because of this...a dog was killed, and through the last year
six hunting dogs have been attacked, which
has caused hysteria..

Also two sheep flocks have been attacked in the region.
Which if Non-Lethal Methods, would have been prevented..

The hunt will be over a two week period, between November 1st and December
20th.

The reason that the hunt will start in November and happen
any time until near the end of December is that they want Wolves
to grow larger so that the snow shall make Wolf tracking easier.

SWEET, BEAUTIFUL, WOLFDOG GIRL *SAHIRA* is such a cuddlebug!

We took her to the vet today for a checkup and boosters.
She has put on the weight she lost while in the shelter and
is now up to 51 lbs! Saphira quickly warms up with TLC, and
seems to trust women faster than men, but she does not seem
to be afraid of anything in particular...she just needs some
REASSURANCE AND LOVE, she needs someone to protect her and to care!

She is a bit skittish which is normal considering all she has
been through…. with a loving owner she will be blossom!

Saphira needs to be moved soon , and she so much needs a home with a yard
(very secure as she can squeeze through the most impossible small gaps, and jump a
4' fence easily). And she needs alot of attention and TLC...*ALL
SAPHIRA NEEDS IS LOVE AND SOMEONE TO CARE ABOUT HER!*

We visit Saphira weekly and take her out on a leash for walks and attention.
She is so happy to see us and enjoys her one-on-one time. Her coat is changing colors -
she's gone from a silvery gray and white to a beautiful sable and white.
She is so ready for a yard with a high fence so she can run and play off leash.
I wish our two would accept her...we would bring her home…she is so special
and just needs her chance to be a loving family member!!

2) Very Sweet, *WOLFDOG* Pup/Girl in NM neds home/Pls repost

This precious baby needs a home…she was surrendered by a homeless person who
could no long take care of her…and has spent all of her young life on the
end of a rope with minimal food until coming to our home, as we are fostering her.
She may have been underfed buy her previous owner, but she was loved,
as she is a very social, & happy girl.

*** An adoption application will be required to adopt this precious baby!
I check all references and a fencing and home check will also be required…
we love her and I am looking for someone who will love and care for her
as much as we do! *** Please serious inquiries only who are willing to
fill out an application. She would do best with another wuffer…a male,
but also someone who could give her a lot of time and attention..

Whoever had her was kind to her as she has no emotional issues I have noticed…I housebroke her
in 2 days so she learns quickly but I have not had a lot of time to train her.
But she is loving and smart. She is not afraid of men so a male or female owner would be fine.

Naaelisha is very beautiful and her fur is gorgeous now, as we have been
feeding her well for a couple of months…she is gorgeous.

She needs a male wuffer companion who will be tolerant of her
constantly trying to play…and she likes to roughhouse.

I have seen ‘no indication’ of jumping or digging or trying to get out,
but she is only 8 months old…that might change, but she needs a playmate to keep her occupied .

Naaelisha gets along well with all our other dogs except she plays too rough for my
little blind dog…she is ‘totally’ housebroke and happy chewing on a large rawhide
inside all day long and will lay nicely as long as she has a big rawhide or knucklebone
to chew on but she needs a yard to run and a ‘larger dog’ friend… and does well with our
pit bull, they chase each other around.

I have another young female wolf dog who Naaelisha annoyed & they dont get along...
so I need to find her a home quickly before it gets cold here. I do not want to put
the 2 young females in the house together for the winter.

She sleeps inside on the bed very well, lying quietly next to you all through the night,
and will kiss you good morning and brighten your day~! She holds her
potty until you let her out in the morning with no problems.

She is spayed, healthy, bright and beautiful, and about 8 months old.

Although she has no emotional damage and likes men as well as women….
She has wolfy behavior, so whoever adopts her need to expect that.
She Will grab meat off the table etc., but in all fairness I have
had no time to thoroughly train her. She walks nicely on a harness…
but pulls too much on a collar walk, yet I have only had time
to walk her a couple times…but we have an acre fenced for her to play in so she gets a lot of exercise.

OH!!! She is a good ‘alert dog’ and will make a real ruckus if a stranger appears, she will
let you know a stranger is approaching!
She needs love, direction and a permanent home with a wuffer friend.

She gets along well with my older female wolf, and my 2 older male wolfdogs…
I would not recommend putting her with another young female wolfdog.

She is a beauty and a treasure…just a fun little girl.

1) Wolves have been relisted
as Endangered in the Great
Lakes. It was the result
of a suit brought by the Humane Society
of the United States,
Help Our Wolves Live,
Born Free USA and Friends of Animals and
Their Environment.

They think that Wolves still haven't
restored to their historic range,
which is true. But they think
Wolves should be listed until
their population is suitable
for delisting.

Which Wolves should be permanently
listed anyhow. Especially since
they would be slaughtered more in
livestock issues and subjected
to hunts. Whether these groups
support hunting of Wolves in the
future is unknown.

the lives of 106 Wolves.

As with all rescues, an adjustment period is needed as he is very sensitive to change.
He and his mate were dropped to a shelter and were going to be euthanized on July 4.
His mate has been adopted, but Wolfie needs a home desperately. He was in a shelter for 4 months,
then fosters since July! This boy needs his forever home!

They plan on these possible reactions due

September 28, 2008 WOLF DOG UPDATES!

2) The conservation group WildEarth Guardians
wants Wolves reintroduced into Colorado.
They think it would help with cutting down
overpopulating Elk herds.

They have outlined four spots for them
to populate:

Flat Tops north of Glenwood Springs,
the Grand Mesa-Uncompahgre-Gunnison national forests near Pitkin County's western border,
the San Juan Mountains and Wemenuche Wilderness in southwestern Colorado,
and southern Colorado's Vermeso Park Ranch and Carson National Forest.

to Colorado. The only way would be to sue the USFWS

no pen to be put into, not even a fenced yard!

1) The USFWS has temporarily
withdrew it's request to challenge
the relisting of Wolves in
the Northern Rockies.

This is to allow their officials
to reconsider their
findings and further study the issue
of delisting.

Which there shouldn't be any.
Wolves shouldn't be delisted like
any animal species. Period.
Like people are protected by laws
permanently, so should animals
in the U.S. and all over.

The state and federal agencies
that are in the Northern Rockies
will still be able to slaughter
Wolves in livestock issues, and
that is an issue that hasn't stopped.

And with the lack of interest even
among conservation groups that claim
to protect Wolves, this seems promdominate.

Since Wolves returned to the western U.S. in the 1990s,
federal agents have murdered more than 1,000 wolves,
and last year 186 problem wolves
were slaughtered in Idaho, Montana and
Wyoming, in preventable livestock issues.

When will the USFWS strike again is unclear.
Be on guard folks, we will let you know
when it looks like when they are intent
on getting Wolves delisted again.

In the meantime talk to Judge Molloy about
NLM's and PF Ranching Practices and how
livestock issues can be avoided without
bloodshed. And not to delist Wolves when
the USFWS tries one of their hideous
plans once again.

2) Catron County in New Mexico,
which the County's government in
the past hasn't cared for Wolves
at all and has believed in lies to do so...
has demanded that a Wolf
be murdered in a case where
a horse was hurt and family pets
were killed.

IF the county ACUTALLY used NLM's
as well as animal husbandry practices,
this wouldn't have happened.

Catron County last year
in December, passed an ordinance to
’protect’ it’s citizens,
pets, and livestock from
Wolves.

Murdering the Wolf won't solve anything.
Especially since this happened last
year as well.

So contact the Mexican Gray Wolf
Program of the USFWS asking them
to just relocate and not murder
the Wolf like last year...

3) The Forest Service who represents the
Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in eastern Arizona,
where Mexican Gray Wolves roam, has proposed a new
policy requiring proper disposal of livestock carcasses –
carcasses that are the result of non-Wolf
causes.

It's a great idea to have it so baiting
Wolves won't happen, where not all ranchers,
but some, would leave dead livestock to
attract Wolves so Wolves could be murdered.

It's a step in the right direction, but
it should go also farther to prevent the
other half of preventing depredations without
harm to Wolves as well.

and doing an emergency injunction
as soon as they were delisted to prevent
ANY casulties.

Earthjustice in particular had a wait
and see attitude to see what would
happen once Wolves were delisted,
knowing that they were make a hideous
deal. Prove Wolves for real would
be slaughtered for real for Judge
Molloy and they would be re-listed.
This was kep from the public for
many months.

Meanwhile Wolves still get slaughtered
in livestock issues and aren't protected.

This is ominous indeed. Ed Bangs
who slaughtered many Wolves during
his 'career' with the USFWS supports
hunting of Wolves and will revamp
plans for Wolves so they will get delisted
at some point again.

WOLF NEWS 9/11/2008

1) The man, Steven Alan Taylor,
that we told you about awhile
ago that murdered
a Wolf in northern
Minnesota in 2002 and was
being charged for it
got only the sentence
of 2 years probation
and being fined $2,500.

During his probation
he can't hunt for 2 years.

The original sentence
was a $25,000 fine and 6 month
imprisonment.

This is unfortunate for
Wolves. It should have been
a $25,000 fine, 6 month
imprisonment and 2 year
probation. In fact hunting
needs to end, period.

But as long as Wolves are
not human, killing will be
called killing and that term
will be used as justification
for continued murder.

And justice will be weakened
in incidents like this.
Especially since Taylor destroyed
the semi-automatic weapon in 2003 since
he thought the DNR and FWS
were watching him (whether
this was the case is unknown,
regardless these are corrupt
agencies in and of themselves..)
